SALSITA with SALSA DEL PUEBLO

This workshop was designed as an introduction to body language through salsa music, aimed at children aged 8 to 12. The main goal is to develop the ability to express oneself through movement, using salsa as a rhythmic, cultural, and creative vehicle. The approach combines technical movement fundamentals with a playful exploration of rhythm, promoting motor coordination, body lightness, and active music listening. Through basic salsa sequences, participants learn to identify the musical pulse and translate it into conscious and expressive movements.

Rosario Wurlitzer is a Colombian DJ whose sound explores Afro-Caribbean rhythms like merengue, plena, bachata, cumbia, and salsa brava, heavily influenced by music from the 70s and 80s. Her approach celebrates salsa as a cultural movement that unites and awakens a nostalgia that connects people to their identity.
