“THE DREAM IS TRIANGLE-COLORED” by Catarina Vilaça

Catarina Vilaça holds a degree in Fine Arts – Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto. She has presented her work in exhibitions and residencies such as ARDUME (Porto, 2024), “Lovely Friday mit videokunst” (Bregenz, 2023), and Contextile (Guimarães, 2021). She was nominated for the FBAUP Acquisition Award and received a grant to develop an installation in Viana do Castelo (2020).

Her work develops between video-performance, installation, and happening. She builds symbolic narratives inhabited by often geometric figures, almost always vulnerable and strange. She explores states such as frustration, fear, or loneliness, frequently using 3D modeling and textiles to create artificial, silent, and dense worlds. A geometric-emotional universe where the absurd and human intersect.
