Destroyer is Dan Bejar’s chameleon-like project – the Canadian musician also known for the band New Pornographers and the supergroup Swan Lake. After 30 years in music, the group returns to Portugal to present their new album ‘Dan’s Boogie’ at Casa Capitão, which marks a turning point for Destroyer.
Starting from a folk universe connected to indie rock, Destroyer continues to share intimate, deeply personal songs with the world, charged with a theatrical force that only Dan Bejar knows how to deliver. And the album’s most radical change: where previous Destroyer albums fought against the world, this one dances with it — its nine tracks dream together like one long maneuver. Dan Bejar’s eye might be on the exits, but he’s not leaving anytime soon.
The opening act will feature Eleanor Friedberger, an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who explores rock classicism through a contemporary and melodic lens.
