The Levante Cultural collective emerged in Brazil in 2006, combining the desire to work collaboratively with the desire to popularise audiovisual and photographic work. Since then, we have produced shows, festivals, workshops, exhibitions and films.
In 2019, we reinvented ourselves in Portugal with a programme of activities that reinforce the importance of coming together. These include: Levante Cineclube (themed short film screenings); Levante a Voz (film screenings followed by discussions with the team) and training courses such as LSD (Script Doctor Laboratory) and workshops aimed at different audiences.
We are currently seeking to open up new spaces for dialogue between immigrant practices and knowledge.
